Zoom e.V. works on the development and transfer of practical expertise as well as in fostering competency in policy-making in the field of social and labour market policy. Our goal is to make scientific methods and knowledge available for practical use in society. A good foundation and expertise in know-how is a prerequisite for developing appropriate and realizable solutions and concepts for current assignments in the field of social and labour market policy.
With reference to the ideas of the "reflexive action research," science-practice transfer not only means the transfer of knowledge in the direction of practice; in close exchange with actors in each specific field, we also support reflection on existing practice and its fundamental concepts with regard to methods of empirical social sciences and to general theory. Through this reflexive process, knowledge that is relevant and transferable to practice can be generated and used for developing solution-oriented concepts.
Science-practice transfer in this sense has been and remains a central aspect of many projects of Zoom e.V. Our science-practice projects are often a link between theory and practice that are based on the debates and networks of actors; we offer important input in both directions.
