ISPR – Innovative strategies for the prevention of re-offending
Since December 2007 Zoom e.V. is part of a local network in Göttingen which is headed by the municipality’s European office. The network participates in a wider project headed by the European Forum for Urban Security which aims to disseminate innovative ideas/strategies to prevent the re-offending of people released from prison.
Experience you can count on!
In the competition "Regional Employment Compacts for Older People" of the National Department for Economy and Labour (BMWA) the contribution of the County of Göttingen "50+ - Experience you can count on!" was awarded. With the slogan "Experience you can count on!", Zoom e.V. will work together with 29 other organisations on the improvement of the employment situation of older people in the region until the end of September 2007.
This project dealed with the expanding active labour market policy which is considered within the "open method of co-?ordination" (OMC) to be an important approach to reduce poverty and social exclusion in the EU member states. According to this, all National Action Plans (NAPs) of the member states include an active employment policy as an instrument against social exclusion.
Central issue of the project PUSH (Public Subsidised Employment in Europe) is the design and the framework of publicly subsidised employment. PUSH is supported from the European Social Fund according to Article 6 (innovative measures of local employment policy). Project leader is the Lawaetz Foundation (Hamburg), partner organisations are Zoom e.V., the City of Göttingen, the Federal Working Group for Labour (BAG Arbeit) as well as the Dublin Employment Pact.
