Managing school to work transition at a regional level

In cooperation with the Adult Education Centre Göttingen (Volkshochschule) and the Employment Promotion Agency Göttingen (Beschäftigungsförderung kAöR) Zoom e.V. strives to establish the regional management for the school to work transition. The project runs until 2012 and is funded by the Ministry of Education and Research and the European Social Fund.
The project looks at existing support measures and structures for young people in the school to work transition, with the aim to coordinate and improve them.
Project aims
- to compile a comprehensive overview of existing approaches / measures in the school to work transition,
- to identify with all actors involved gaps in existing provisions / to identify with all actors concerned which further measures are needed,
- to increase the involvement of local firms in the vocational preparation process in schools,
- to implement a pilot project for vocational preparation in one of the local sec-ondary schools,
- to finetune existing measures in the school to work transition,
- to develop new strategies with all institutions concerned to improve the school to work transition overall.
The focus of Zoom e.V. in this project is the execution of a preliminary survey to take stock of all existing measures and provisions in the school to work transition and to identify interfaces and shortcomings of these measures.
